Welcome to vegasdesi.com!!! The Indian community, along with other South Asian communities, in Las Vegas is growing exponentially. It has reached a stage where it is important and advisable to have a local publication serving the local desi community. Most of you have known me for years but for those who don't, I would like to introduce myself. I am Swadeep Nigam. I have been a resident of Las Vegas for the last 20+ years. In the past, I have been active with various organizations and clubs including Friends of India, Sikh Gurudwara in Vegas, NAACP, CAN-DO, Asian Republicans, etc. The town was small and there were less than fifty Indian families. Today our vibrant community and our city are growing rapidly. At present, I believe that this is an appropriate time to start a site and/or magazine for a local South Asian (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh & Nepal) population, containing news about the community activities, religious activities, political & economic issues, desi owned businesses, and other pertinent information. This site will be an opportunity for all of us to voice our views, comments, and day-to-day desi business at one place - website/publication. You are invited to contribute your experiences with the issues affecting desi community - whether its political, social or economics. This site is intended for anyone and everyone who has inquisitiveness in local South Asian affairs. If your business caters to local desi community,I would like to request you to buy an advertising space to increase your business opportunities and exploring an untapped potential of your own exclusive and prosperous community. This site will be a great marketing and communication tool to convey your product and ideas to the local prospective customers. Lastly, I would like to thank ASR Infosystems for developing and designing this website. Sincerely, Swadeep Nigam This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
